Anne Marie Jehle
Jeder Spiesser ein Diktator
Since November 8, 2024, the St. Gallen Art Museum will offer a focused look at the life and work of the artist Anne Marie Jehle. In an intensive curatorial dialogue with the curator Nadia Veronese and the director Gianni Jetzer, a presentation strategy for Jehle’s work was developed that places the very heterogeneous works and collections in the historical rooms of the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, contextualizes and groups them and allows them to speak in their critical context.
The relevance of her work, which reached its peak in the 1970s, is particularly high in the context of today’s discussions about gender and self-determination in art. The immense media attention this exhibition has received shows how important the rediscovery of her work is.
