As the winner of the Brand House Vorarlberg” competition, chezweitz & partner was commissioned by Vorarlberg Tourism GmbH to develop the concept for the new trade fair strategy.

The most important requirement for the new trade fair concept is the direct communication of the Vorarlberg” brand: How can the valuesof the Vorarlberg brand best be conveyed to visitors? How can the diversity of an entire region be condensed into a single exhibition stand? How can an entire region be experienced and explored within a single stand?

The Vorarlberg Tourism GmbH exhibition stand offers various regions, as well as individual providers such as hotels, a shared platform to present themselves at trade fairs under the Vorarlberg Tourism GmbH logo.

The basic modules of the new exhibition system (each measuring 20×20×60 cm and made of solid Vorarlberg white fir) allow for the construction of various spatial scenarios (forest, field, mountain, island, city) and flexible adaptation to variables such as total area, stand orientation, number of exhibitors, and type of use. This allows the stand to be optimally tailored to different trade fair situations. At the same time, the client can also use the stand as furniture for other events and deploy individual components independently. In May, for example, the stand modules will be used twice at the Bregenz Festival Hall – once as lounge furniture without exhibitors during a reception at the festival hall, and once as stage furniture at a sustainability conference organized by Vorarlberg Tourism GmbH.

The basic modules can be supplemented with various functional modules as needed. The modular design ensures easy transport and assembly.

The stand’s color scheme is based on the colors of Vorarlberg Tourism GmbH (white/red). The graphic red and white surfaces are visually complemented by the traditional building material, white fir wood, which also engages the sense of smell upon entering the booth.

For the booth’s debut at the f.r.e.e. trade fair in Munich, the landscape model Forest” was chosen. Vertical storage modules, distributed differently across the exhibition space, create areas that can be individually configured by the 10 exhibitors. Each of the ten exhibitors has access to a dedicated lighting module, a brochure module, two hand storage modules (with power outlets), seating, and ample storage space of varying sizes within the modules. The lighting modules, featuring the Vorarlberg logo, are highly visible and guide visitors to the booth. All storage modules are of high-quality construction and veneered with individual solid wood panels, matching the base module. The storage modules can be positioned upright as cabinets or horizontally as chests or benches.

The typical trade fair setup (separation of visitors and exhibitors by a counter) is eliminated by the diverse spatial concepts, and the visually varied exhibition stand creates an inviting spatial experience that encourages visitors to linger and engage in conversation. All elements of the new exhibition stand were manufactured by companies from Vorarlberg. The high-quality workmanship using both traditional and high-tech materials authentically conveys the brand value to visitors and extends the usability of the elements for several trade fair years.
