Temporary means temporary. Temporary structures are usually temporary and serve as a precursor to a future, hopefully long-lasting building. If the concept of the building is complete, but the content is still being sought, temporary, light-weight constellations can help promote reflection on these contents.

For the new building of the first German commercial construction group, Frizz23, chezweitz developed such a temporary umbrella constellation, which served as a discussion forum for the further development of the site and its social anchoring in the district. The reading umbrella roof” provided exemplary space for an idea: a potential library. Libraries are not just quiet spaces of seclusion; they are playgrounds, places for homework, sources of information — in short, lively meeting places for a neighborhood. Therefore, all neighbors of southern Friedrichstraße, but especially children and young people from the neighborhood, were invited to this reading umbrella festival.” They listened to old and new stories about building and living in the city, but also to discuss what and how an ideal library might be. The 56 colorful umbrellas, four large white parasols, and 20 red water canisters offered a first, temporary impression of such a neighborhood forum.
